During the summer of 2005, when the 4,000 Israeli homes were dismantled in Gaza, 6,000 new homes were being built for settlers in the West Bank, some of them for the Gaza settlers.

There are over 200 settlements in the West Bank- some have become large cities.

Four Israeli settlements have been built on the confiscated land that surrounds Daher’s vinyard. The wind carries the constant rumble of settlement expansion by the Palestinian labourers who need the work.

The Nasser family are not allowed electricity, running water or to build on their land. “It is even illegal to go to the toilet!” Daoud Nasser jokes as we disguise the roof of the new aluminium toilet and shower block with branches so the Israeli helicopters don’t see them.
