Dahers Vinyard

Daher’s vinyard is as close to the land of the bible as you can get- mainly because Israel has not built a settlement on it yet. The Nasser family produce olives, figs, grapes, and used to sleep in caves, until they built a small house. In 1991, the Israeli government declared the family land to be Israeli state property, even though the family has all the original land papers from the Ottoman, British, Jordanian and Israeli Governance.

Since then, the family has successfully fought through the Israeli courts against roads being built through their land and settlers entering and destroying their property. The case of ownership is still under debate in the high court.
